Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I encountered behind its doors was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
Cleanliness Issues : Filthy and Disregarded
From the moment I stepped inside , it was immediately obvious that hygiene was not a priority at Masterson’s . The ground was covered in grime , and a foul smell of stale beer and uncleaned toilets polluted the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of human waste, decay and illness . The counter , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even more deplorable shape —overflowing , with a snapped lever and walls stained in what I can only assume was human waste .

For a business that provides refreshments , these issues are utterly disgraceful and raise serious concerns about the quality of anything they serve .

The bar is owned by Pete Cornwell, who also holds a corporate position as a financial oversight professional at Westpac.
